[00:01:28] Unknown:
Well,
[00:01:30] Unknown:
Well, you're thinking about Thanksgiving, so I made you a jingle. Yeah. Yep. I was,
[00:01:35] Unknown:
going through the fridge this morning, and, all my deviled eggs, components are expired. Oh, of course. Gotta replace them. I feel like I always have an expired mustard in the fridge. I don't know. I don't even know how that's possible. But I know. What goes bad in there? I I yeah. Well so I am I am looking forward to Thanksgiving Yeah. Here, in a couple well, four weeks maybe. And there are just some go to dishes. Well, first of all, since the divorce, I think we've done every Thanksgiving
[00:02:05] Unknown:
together. Maybe maybe not one, like, after the first year because if I went to my family one year or something like that Yeah. Maybe. Or maybe we still had one? I I don't know. Yeah. Well, yeah. Because we're I think we might have still had one. Divorce was in both sides of our families.
[00:02:18] Unknown:
We went to multiple families over multiple days. Yeah. So but anyway, the But for a serious tradition is Chris and Hadiya come over. Yeah. And it's a serious Thanksgiving. And your mom and sometimes your mom's sister, your brother. And, yeah. So I always make deviled eggs. Yeah. I am thinking about making broccoli salad just because it's a good cold, like, you know, side thing. Yeah. So much stuff we have is, like, warm and brown.
[00:02:47] Unknown:
You know, it is. That is like, it's got you got stuffing Gravy. The gravy, you know, the turkey's kinda you know? You know what I mean? So it's like having something green and bright and fresh is nice. It's a good idea. Mhmm.
[00:02:59] Unknown:
Dia makes a chip dip that is so good. You know, Velveeta Lots
[00:03:06] Unknown:
of garlic and just crazy. So good. And then you and Dia make the turkey. Mhmm. I'm trying to think if there's Usually, a green bean casserole unless my mom makes that. Your mom likes to make that. Hadil always loves to try it, like, a a go at the stuffing. So sometimes she'll make, like, a fancy stuffing, and sometimes she'll make, like, a standard stuffing Mhmm. For those that don't want anything fancy like the kids. Mhmm. This is sounding like the lunch. I also make fruit salad for the kids. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. They love that. For the kids. Definitely not for me.
[00:03:33] Unknown:
And I do. Yeah. And I do, the sweet potatoes. Yeah. Yeah. I am just I am really looking forward to it. You know, I have a turkey in my freezer right now that I meant to cook this last weekend. Yeah.
[00:03:44] Unknown:
Yeah. Alright. Well, I mean, I can pull it off for Thanksgiving. I take it pretty seriously. You know, in years past, I'm considering doing it this year too. I've I've done two turkeys, and I do one as a test turkey. Right. And I I I do a test run of, like, a cooking technique and then hone in and then do a final turkey on actual Thanksgiving day. Mhmm. Might do that. Haven't really what's really been working is honestly just cooking in the oven. Yeah. It's just been working so nice. Yeah. Yeah. My oven has never been the same. I have not been able to clean. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Remember when you tried to Yeah. Did the the fry it? Well, that was the Alton Brown method where you, like, you you get it really hot really quick. But and he's, like, cover it in oil. But what he neglects to mention, it's a good technique. But when you get it to, like, 500 degrees, that oil
[00:04:27] Unknown:
spiders Everywhere. Everywhere. Yeah. So Yeah. It's never the same. We're at the point where two out of three kids keep in mind they're 12, 14, and 16. Two out of three will actually eat more than just mac and cheese and bread. Yeah. Right? Bella. Bella will not eat more than mac and cheese and bread and the fruit salad. But, anyway, it's nice that at least two of them are gonna eat turkey and some of the other I mean, I'll always try to get her to eat turkey. I mean, it probably won't work, but I'll try. I know. I don't know why this girl does not like Food? Meat. Like, I can't get her to eat any kind of deli meat or Maybe she's a bird. Or rotisserie chicken. Rotisserie chicken even. It's just the chicken strip without the breading. I tried to tell her that, and she's like, you know? And then Abby gets home from school yesterday. I'm like, do you want some sirloin? She's like, yeah. So are we invite we're gonna invite my mom? Have we talked about that? I mean We should, so I should probably let her know. Well, we haven't not invited your mom. Alright. Well,
[00:05:24] Unknown:
I'm Your mom. I just realized I haven't actually told her. Oh, I'm sure she assumes.
[00:05:28] Unknown:
Man. I don't know. Yeah. I don't know. But have you ordered a turkey yet? No. But I, it's on my radar. Oh. He and I have talked about it. You know what I wanna make again is, there's a jalapeno cream cheese cranberry dip that Yeah. Is killer.
[00:05:43] Unknown:
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm looking forward to it. Good food, good eating. And then, you know, I I want some leftovers this year too. But Oh, yeah. We should get test turkey. I probably will. Amazon has,
[00:05:55] Unknown:
some, like, divided leftover
[00:05:57] Unknown:
Oh, yeah. Just plastic so that you can in here. Yeah. It's alright. So here's here's Bring your own dishes. Bring yeah. Bring your dishes and take home some food. That's that's the tip. Right? Alright. Here's what I wanna know. So here's a little boost in question for you. Or you can give us a call. What is your Thanksgiving vibe? Is it a big deal for your family, small thing? And then is there anything you do that other families should consider like a tradition?
[00:06:21] Unknown:
Well What? What do you do? What do I do? You mean jack in the box now. No. Yeah. Alright. Okay. Well, you're okay. That's funny. Yeah. I forgot about that.
[00:06:29] Unknown:
When we were married, Chris and I would always have Enough. Yeah. Fast food on the way to some of these family things. It was mostly just because we're juggling kids and just need some of the fast food. We would actually be on the road in between family stuff when it's time to eat. Yeah. But, no, you put an ambiance on the TV. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I do like that. I go you know, sometimes I'll just go on YouTube and I'll find them and then I'll use a tool to download them off of YouTube, then load them on the media server. Well, tell them what them is. Them what? What it is. What is it? It's typically a crackling fire. Oh, yeah. Or Or anything. I mean, I'm I always just generally There was a Christmas scene? Yeah. Well, I think you do that. I feel like a dozen now. I've got and they're all like, I've got Halloween ones, but I like to find a new one every year. So I'll probably go I'll probably go spelunking and then just throw that on the media server so it's easy to just put up on the TV. Mhmm. Lickety split. Mhmm. And then, you know, it adds a vibe. So what do you do? Do you have a tradition? Do you have a do you have maybe something we should consider copying?
[00:07:20] Unknown:
Or are you a Thanksgiving hater? Oh, yeah. Also, like Could be. Is your Christmas tree up? Right? Because Thanksgiving is at the end of the month this month. Right? Normally, I wait till my birthday, which, by the way, as long as we don't miss an episode, episode 42 will be the same week that I turn 42. No way. That's cool. I think I'm 42. Are you 43? I think so. Okay. Then I'm 40. I'll be 42. I know. It's you just don't even it's it doesn't even matter anymore. We're just halfway through our lives or less. Getting to that range where it's like I don't really even wanna know. But yeah. I'm I'm gonna be putting up the tree any day now. So Wow. So you're going before? Yeah. Yeah. I just I need to get all the Halloween stuff out and yes. I go after just because the RV is such a small space.
[00:08:03] Unknown:
Yeah. But, Your tree is like a foot and a half tall. Yeah. It's tiny. Well, it's it's like I this this this year too, it's gonna be tricky because I I got such a cool work setup. I don't know if I wanna Adversary's tree is up. Really? Yeah. Yeah. Adversaries. Nice. Alright. So, yeah, boost in. Let us know or give us a call. Tell us your turkey vibe. Alright. So over the week, I have been trying to optimize my sleep following guidance from a certain LLM backed with data collected by my Apple Watch that I wear at night using an app called Health Auto Export. And then initially, I exported quite a bit of health data to the LLM and then, just sleep data. And then in this last week, while I've been doing this challenge, I just uploaded my last seven days and had it give me an analysis.
[00:08:59] Unknown:
This is crazy. It created a a table Yeah. Of data that I know you're not capable of doing. No. I didn't make that. Yeah. I did not make that. No offense. It's just not your forte. Like, this is my forte, but yes. It's kinda fantastic. Gosh. Yeah. It's kinda fantastic, really. It did it did a pretty good job, I I have to say. And,
[00:09:17] Unknown:
it helped me also refine some of my data collection, so it would be a bit more clear. And overall, things look pretty good. There is some stuff that wasn't as good. So maybe I'll do that. The wake after sleep onset was a little bit worse for me. Also Yeah. And, you know, one of the things I realized when I'm actually paying a lot of attention is there's a spousal factor. Like sometimes Oh, yeah. Right? She wakes me up. Yeah. And then I'm up. And then Yeah. And she wakes me up twenty, thirty minutes after I've fallen asleep. I have a really tough time falling asleep. There's a clear solution to that. Or she or she wakes me up at 4AM, around 4AM like today, I'm up. I was up. At 4AM, I'm like, oh, it's too early to be up. So those those there's a problem there. But outside of that, I got a little bit better.
My deep sleep was a little bit not great, but I have thoughts on that I'll come back to. My overall sleep efficiency had a huge gain in part because of better tracking, but overall because I was following each night a different routine. Right. And that helped. Here's what I hit. You compounded them. I had a 25% REM bounce back. That's fantastic. That's my biggest win right there. My sleep became more consolidated. If I did wake up, the waking periods were shorter. I had less fragmented sleep. I had more complete cycles. I had higher REM share points. So that was good. And I have a good clear action plan from what worked based on this last seven days for the next seven days, and this is a great plan to iterate on. And I definitely feel like I'm sleeping better or moving in the right direction, but I'll tell you, it's not it's not great, you know, it's it's a good improvement but it's not a great improvement.
And I think I have to I think I have to acknowledge that the thing that might have worked the best for me or one of the things that helped is Colonel's suggestions, on the on the magnesium and stuff like that worked, and I I have those linked last week. But the one thing that I'm really frustrated by that seemed to demonstrate good results was a two hour kinda wind down. Oh, yeah.
[00:11:20] Unknown:
Yeah. Well, what about the journaling? I was curious about that. Very I found that very I hated it. Yeah.
[00:11:26] Unknown:
Well, did you digital? Oh, no. I did. No. I did. I did the notes. Okay. Good. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. I I really don't want this two hour before maybe I can maybe it doesn't have to be two hours. Maybe I could try to narrow that window down because if you think of what I mean, that's that's that's just impossible for me. It's like the the whole night, basically. It's like you have Yeah. So what do you what do you do? Like that was a challenge. Is there some nights I get home and I'm like, I don't even have two hours before bed. It's like bedtime now. There's no time to wind down. Yeah. That's definitely an issue. But then when I do, it's like, but this is the two hour I I cannot just like not no TV, no phone, no computer at all. Like, I can read sometimes, but I just can't imagine making that a routine thing. I have too much shit to do. Yeah. I just I can't wrap my head around it. And, you know, like and what is that like if the kids text me? Does that mean I'm not I mean, obviously, I'm checking a screen then. Does that break the whole two hour cycle? Like Right. I found that to be plus, there's the whole psychological thing of, like, I don't wanna be the type of person where this stuff is on my mind and it's affecting my sleep so much. Like, I wanna believe that I can just deal with stuff and then turn it off and go to sleep. Well, responding to the kids is one completely different than, like, doom scrolling. Yeah. Yeah. All doom scrolling. Because doom scrolling is a psychological void, you know. Yeah. Or it's really you know, one of the things is really is keeping the heart rate down as things just get your heart rate up. Right. Right. Political things or news or whatever. Yeah.
But god, I hated that that showed some results. I hated that. And I don't really know how to internalize that in a way that I can actually make work for me because two hours is bonkers. I just can't do that. Right. The wind down was basically no blue light,
[00:13:01] Unknown:
or electronics, basically. So you
[00:13:04] Unknown:
like to read Yeah. But you but so you could listen Yeah. To books or physically read a book. Like that, then you're doing something as long as you feel like you're accomplishing something. It's tough, though. For two hours in the RV to do no screens? Yeah. Like, what am I just sitting on the couch reading? I mean, I can some nights, but it just doesn't seem like something I can realistically do. Yeah. Not every night. No. Yeah. Mm-mm. I don't know. But it did help, so I'm gonna try to play with that some more. You know, my takeaway was that this actually wasn't a waste of time. Good. I did overall actually see an improvement in my sleep after months of sort of a declining.
I actually got an improvement, which is huge. And so I think for the next week, I'm gonna kinda keep the same kind of try to go to bed by 09:30, 10:00 every night. I'm going to see about walking in the morning, depends on daylight with because we have new daylight savings time. But also, I'm gonna attempt, like, at least a thirty minute wind down. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, do something that you feel good about that isn't feeling like it's limiting your life, because yeah. You're just gonna have a negative feeling about it. Yeah. That's just it. It's like I mean, and I don't mean to sound like I I'm addicted to my screen, but it's No. I live in a I live in an RV. And so if I don't wanna look at screens, that means
[00:14:17] Unknown:
I either have to Cover them up. Sequester myself to, like, the back bedroom Mhmm. Or I have to ask everybody else not to look at screens. Oh, but didn't this have you training yourself when you lay in bed, it's for sleep so you can't Yeah. Or, I mean, you can stand around it awkwardly. Yeah. Yeah. I just turned my back to the TV.
[00:14:34] Unknown:
You know? So it's like it's that's a particularly tricky one. Yeah. And then Wednesday night, I think I worked till 08:00 at night. And so, well, you know, I mean, I'm I'm looking at screens to drive home. You know? The whole thing is just that's a little impossible. But thirty minutes, I think I could do, and I'm gonna try it, see if it goes, see if a little light walking helps depending on the weather and and light. And then I'm gonna continue to take the magnesium
[00:14:56] Unknown:
that, Colonel recommended, which has been fantastic. Did you get the gummy one with the three and eight and the I don't know. No? Oh, okay. I don't know. I ordered it, but I don't have it yet. Yeah. I don't know why. I thought I ordered it, but
[00:15:09] Unknown:
I put it in the cart that after that episode, but I don't think I got it. Yeah.
[00:15:13] Unknown:
I'm just realizing that. Yeah. You already had one that he had recommended. Yeah. So Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. This was just a it has the
[00:15:21] Unknown:
glycinate and the three and eight. By bitten ads in our matrix chat room, he says, I was forced to make, like, a a to do list Mhmm. And that helped get things out of my head. Yep. I I do that some now more than ever, I do that.
[00:15:36] Unknown:
I'll just do a quick dump even if it's just a list. Yeah. There's certain times of the month where I'm, like, ambitious Ange, and I make this big to do list, and it does help. And then I just stare at it for a couple days and don't do anything on it.
[00:15:50] Unknown:
I make a to do list of things to do that I'm not going to do. Well, you gotta make it to do to do the to do list. Yes. To do to do deduced. Right? A 25% REM REM bounce back is pretty good. I mean, that feels like a real like the measurable win there. Yeah. And also the takeaway here of exporting health data and then just massaging and working with it with the machine felt in a way like I was getting more attention than a doctor would give me. Not that it was doctor level advice. Mhmm. But every time I've gone to a doctor and I've talked about the data on my Apple Watch, they tell me to put my toy away, son. You know, they do not Yeah. They do not want to hear what my Apple Watch has to say. Yeah. And I'm like, but bro, I've I've owned, like, a dozen watches. Mhmm. And I could tell you this data's good. Like, I've tried Right. I've tried a lot. This is good data. Yeah. Modern medicine sucks. They don't wanna hear it. Yeah. I have iron deficiency, and my doctor's like, eat soy. Okay. Well, soy messes with, the thyroid. I have Hashimoto's.
[00:16:47] Unknown:
Your thyroid. Soy. Yeah. Yeah. It's high in nickel. I'm allergic to nickel. Like like, there's so many things about soy that that and it has, like, a natural estrogen, like, hormone or whatever that messes like, there's so many things wrong with soy for me as a person, but that's the recommendation.
[00:17:03] Unknown:
Yeah. It's dumb. You don't get I mean, it's not like there's these things are ready to give medical advice, but it has this it has the six month chat history with me. It has my watch data and now it has these things we've tried and then we have measurable results from those things we've tried. To me, it feels like it's a preview of what could be possible in terms of more more useful medical care that's directly tailored to the person, tailored to Mhmm. Your specific issues Mhmm. And and has the capacity to go on and on with you for months or years at a time, put all that information together like you're its only patient and help you tailor an action plan. Mhmm. Like, if you I could imagine so for me, I was attempting to do this with sleep. But I have to wonder if I were attempting to lose some weight and maybe I wanted to walk more and get more steps, you could absolutely see how you could use that same sort of data export and something like chatGPT to be essentially a coach Yeah. And help you and analyze your work and see how you're doing and help you keep to your goals.
It's it's kind of there today and it's it's an interesting use case of it. I don't think I'm gonna keep working with the CHaD GPT. I think I've got it on my own from here, but Mhmm. You know, if things take a turn for the worse, I always can pick that thread back up. I can pick that right back up and be like, okay, Chad. Here's what's happened since we chatted last. Here's my data since we chatted last. Let's figure this out. Mhmm. So I that's my plan, and I'm sticking to it. And it's nice to have a bit of improvement. Let's hope it gets even better next week. We shall see. Okay, Andrews. So we got some voice mails to get to. We got some music of the week and all of that. So let's get some of the basics out of the way. You can call us after the music.
[00:18:57] Unknown:
Well, I'm just gonna make a quick call to my launch. I haven't checked in since yesterday. (774) 462-5667. That's it. Alright. (774) 462-5667. Call now.
[00:19:14] Unknown:
Yeah. Won't you call now? You can leave us a voice mail. We'll play it next week. It's something that really matters to us. It's we always love hearing from you. And then something else that's a real treat. It's a real delight. If you boost while our track plays,
[00:19:28] Unknown:
95% of the sets go to the artists, and that really makes their day. Now's the time. It's the song of the week. Remember, you can boost the track.
[00:19:37] Unknown:
They sure like that. And our song of the week is Flood Gates by Justin Lantrip.
[00:19:51] Unknown:
Can I give you this loan? I could not. I've been trying to see myself, and I've been trying to see I still got love to give, don't I? Still got love to give. Let me show you now what we have now is what we have. Rain it comes down black. Rain it comes down black. My hair's gone white.
[00:24:49] Unknown:
And now, on with the show.
[00:24:56] Unknown:
(774) 462-5667. That's the line.
[00:25:02] Unknown:
Call the launch, won't you? We'd love it if you gave us a ring, and we did get a few voice mails this week. Mark from Michigan is our for nor Northern Michigan is our first caller this week. Hey, guys. Mark from Northern Michigan here. Almost actually home.
[00:25:17] Unknown:
Got a late start to listening to you and enjoying it. Following up about your question about the Internet. What we did for the first year, we had Starlink, and we used that for, oh, streaming TV and things like that. And we used it for video gaming, you know, Minecraft and the like. But we also had a secondary service. It was a basically a phone line service, 10 megabyte per second down. We use that for our Zoom and team calls because at the time, three years ago, Starlink didn't have enough satellites up, so the latency didn't, make Teams calls very, efficient.
So, what my wife, Bill, and I would do is we just look at each other's schedule and who had the most important meeting, and that was the person that got to use the, DSL or whatever it was in a gigabit per second. Your turn. And then the other one got to use Starlink and help help things went well. But then about just six months after we moved into the new house due to some federal grants, we got fiber. Oh, nice. We have, like, 5,000 people in our county. We have, like, 700 people in our double township, and we got gigabit fiber. So that that's cool. That makes the home lab really
[00:26:45] Unknown:
efficient Yeah. Even though All the meetings. Gigabit.
[00:26:48] Unknown:
But I do have a question on the home lab, and I need your help.
[00:26:52] Unknown:
I got the Albi hub set up like I talked about before. I'm in it. I can see it. But I don't know how to find you. Where are what's next? Where are you? I got the Albi hub set up. What's next? Good question. I'm a paralyzed astronaut. Hold on. You're getting cut. Mark. Oh, no. Mark, you're kicking. Oh, Mark, you got cut off. Did he call back? Yeah. He called back. Okay. Alright. Here he is. Here he is. Another two minutes. No. No. This one's much quicker. Oh, okay. Yeah. Although, I like his story about using Starlink and and shifting to the phone line. How do satellites work? How are they powered? Amazingly. You know? I mean, I know that's They operate in cold. They got Right? Isn't it cold? They got solar panels on them, and I think they got some they must have some batteries in them some batteries in them.
[00:27:33] Unknown:
I know. And they operate in the cold? The batteries are not affected by the Well, they have to build them with the special insulations.
[00:27:39] Unknown:
Okay. Yeah. I'll tell you what. The Starlink, latency has gotten a lot better too, Mark. You know, twenty to thirty milliseconds could be your expected which is pretty good for a call. Alright. Here's part two. Mark from Michigan, and sorry that went long. I didn't think it would go that long. Anyhow,
[00:27:57] Unknown:
being able to boost, yeah, I got the Albi hub set up, but I had no idea what to do next because I don't know where to find you or what to link it to or to have that. But, likewise, on my phone, I did get the strike app and fountain app there you go. The FM app installed. And I actually have money kind of in the strike app, but it says I can't boost until November 7. It's not available for me. Oh, weird. November 7. Don't know what that's all about. So I hope at least one way I'll be able to boost in in the future and support. With the amount of money I've been spending, though, I'm thinking about just becoming, like, a member because I think it might be a little more easier. Mhmm. But any help on the Albi Hub would be greatly appreciated.
Later.
[00:28:43] Unknown:
Stay a while and listen. I think I would advise to stay on the strike and fountain path, and then Wes and I will hopefully, in the near term future, will have an Albi Hub, a guide, maybe a stream. Not exactly sure because, yeah, that's definitely the harder path. I mean, it's a self hosted path, so I like it. But the fountain path is not only the easier path, but they host the infrastructure. And little birdies tell me there'll be an update coming over the next few weeks that's gonna make it even easier with fountain. Oh. Uh-huh. So my my short term advice is stick with the fountain path. My long term advice is, wait for our Albi hub guide.
So everybody on the on the lightning network that has an Albi hub, just really quickly here, everybody gets a lightning address, a at get a at get Albi address. Ange has one. I have one. And that's how you send stats, and then we put those in the shows, and you use a podcasting2.0 app. You connect it to the it yeah. Anyways, Mark, wait for the guide. I think that's probably just gonna make things easier. But I appreciate you giving it to go. I mean, it's it is an adventure, and I'm always really amazed that people are willing to do it. We really appreciate it. You know, for us, the difference, you know, fundamentally is, so we've been doing the boost in LUP for three years. You know, we've been doing them in this show since we started.
The SATs don't don't really we, like, we don't spend them on the day to day. Like, we can use them if we had to. Like, we have strategic purposes, but they give us a hedge long term for the network, as a pool to draw from. So we really do appreciate that because it's sort of like long term thinking, long term investing Mhmm. For us. Alright. Now here's our last voice mail and, comes from the famous, well known, co a Corncob
[00:30:28] Unknown:
Jim. Hey. This is Corncob Jim, and I got a home to pick with you. And I've heard, the other day's episode of the lunch that you said something about needing to put stabilizers in the gasoline because we put cone cone whiskey in the gasoline. And I gotta say that I I've been putting cone whiskey in about everything for for my whole life ever since I was way over 21, something like that. Anyway, the I've had corn whiskey is perfectly stable. You don't have to put stabilizers in the corn whiskey. And that I I I decided I was gonna call in to to give you a piece of Uncle Jim, what are you doing? Hang on now. I'm talking. That's my phone. Well, goddamn it. Just give me a second. I'm I'm almost done. Give me my oh, I'm so sorry. That was my uncle. Get out of get go. Go. Put some corn or something. Get out of here.
[00:31:18] Unknown:
Oh my gosh. Now I don't know if I agree. I think I don't think there's anything stable at all about corn whiskey, which is a real thing. Corn Was he saying corn whiskey? It sounded like coal whiskey. No. Corn whiskey. And it is at the, center of many controversies over the great history of this United States. Okay. One of my favorite was the whiskey rebellion of nineteen seventy nine, '9 seventeen nineties. The new US government imposed a tax on distilled spirits including corn based whiskey produced by many farmers at the time. The whiskey tax was deeply unpopular since whiskey often served as both a drink Mhmm. And a form of currency k. In the rural West.
Anger turned violent as Western Pennsylvania farmers resisted tax collectors, intimidated officials, destroyed stills, and burned barns. President George Washington led a 13,000 strong militia to suppress the uprising, the only time a sitting president has personally commanded the troops in the field. Wow. That's incredible. That is. The episode, provoked a fierce debate with critics like Thomas Jefferson arguing the government was, repeating the very tyranny the Americans had just revolted.
[00:32:33] Unknown:
Who would have thought?
[00:32:35] Unknown:
So I don't know if there's anything stable about it at all, my friend. Mhmm. It might be quite unstable. So, there you go. There's that's the calls this week. Thank you everybody who, gave us a ring. We really appreciate you, and, we love it if you gave us a voice mail for the next episode. Alright. And we got one web zap this week. Coming in hot with the boost. What? Oh, what is a web zap? What is a web zap? Well, we've noticed that the the, boost support has declined. Although it's been up a little bit last couple episodes, but on average, it's declined. And then I pulled the numbers. Something like 70% of people listening didn't have a app that could that could boost us. Okay. So we thought, alright, time to do a web form, and we created a web form that lets you use, Stripe, I believe. Right? Stripe. Or you can use lightning stuff if you want. If you just have like sats on chain and you don't wanna set up the whole podcast in two point zero stack. So we have web zaps now. We're trying it out and, we launched it soft launch Mhmm. Last week
[00:33:37] Unknown:
and we got one. Yeah. And it's at weeklylaunch.rocks.
[00:33:41] Unknown:
Slash zap. Slash zap. I put a link in the show notes too. Hello, Ang and Chris. This is from Matt m. As a book recommendation, may I propose the Wafers series by Becky Chambers? Her universe is heavily Star Trek inspired. Check. Mhmm. But without the limitations imposed by TV, especially at the time of Toss. It allows her to explore more of the relationship between heavily different species. Oh, interesting. Regarding language, culture. Yeah. That is an area Star Trek doesn't go into as much, and the habitats. It's less of a heroic in the way Star Trek stories might be. It follows the lives of more ordinary people that get caught up in extraordinary circumstances, but it makes for amazing world building.
I regularly listen live often while cooking dinner since the shows happen late in the French time zone. Nice. So maybe it's lunch less lunch related. Lunch. Maybe less lunch related. Oh, I thought he's gonna make a dinner joke. Yeah. Yeah. That's why I was gearing up for the dinner joke. Yeah. But Jupiter Broadcasting got me into home, assistant. Woo. Coming in hot with the blue. Loving this. Got a bunch of sensors already and currently putting some smart lights into my small apartment. Nice. The IKEA ZigBee gear seems like a great value for the money, at least here in the EU. Thanks for all the great shows. That's a fantastic web zap. Mhmm. I'd love to hear how it goes and which IKEA gear is working for you because I have heard things and I had the wife buy some but haven't actually tried it out yet. So I don't actually know how good it is. But I'm waiting to hear her, I guess, report.
And now it is time for Le Boost. Alright. We got some fresh I got I'm pulling in Fret Hot. Woah. Well, that's that's a bit of a number change right there. Yeah. It is. Alright. There we go. Adversary 17 is our baller lobster. Hey, Richard Lobster. Coming in with 302,096
[00:35:25] Unknown:
sacks. And
[00:35:34] Unknown:
he he sent a nice boost last week to thank Drew too to make sure Drew got some sads. Another book series recommendation, the Bobverse. Magnolia Mayhem recommended it. I have read the Bob verse unfortunately, so I cannot say it's new to me. But if you haven't, it's really good. It is a sci fi. It's, how do I describe it? It starts small. Mhmm. One man in like a room and ends up galactic size. Okay. That's that's I don't wanna spoil anything more than that. Okay. It's really good. But you also recommend? Yes. I will plus one on that. Oh, and he says here's a plus one to help pay for those tires. Yeah. And the pre show is grousing that I gotta buy all four new tires for my car again. I feel like every couple of years something happens and I gotta buy new tires. Thank you, adversaries.
Appreciate that. Mick Zips here with 20,000 sats. Well, I'll be dipped. Don't know if you're interested into historical fiction, but I enjoyed the Last Kingdom series, previously called the Saxon Stories. Takes place in England during the Viking invasion.
[00:36:35] Unknown:
I think it's 13 books. Wow. So it would take some time to finish. Yeah. Yeah. Why would they rename it?
[00:36:43] Unknown:
Why did they rename it? That's a good question. Is was it, like, not a good product? Like Just pump the brakes right there. I wanna know what's going on right there. You know? Yeah. I got questions and he's got answers, I think, or something like that. Yeah. I got answers and I want some questions. There you go. There you go. Let us know, but thank you for the recommendation, mix it. Bobby Pink came in with 20,000 sats. I don't understand what the heck is going on here. Since it's been a while since I checked in with the lunch, hope you're all doing great and cooking up some delicious recipes. I do miss brunch with Brent. Sadi's going through a bit of a villain arc right now. Oh my gosh. Yeah. You notice how we're still held up too. I I blame him for the lack of boost because we didn't pivot in time. I mean, the whole thing is structurally his fault.
Structurally. But we continue on low key. The food topics come up. Don't tell them we talked about Thanksgiving. Don't tell them. Mhmm. Thank you, Bobby. Appreciate that. PJ's here with a row of ducks. That's 2222¢. Hey, why not a live boost? Well, thank you, PJ. Mhmm. We love those. Make it so. Yes, indeed. So hangs here with a row of ducks. Chris, the topic of unsustainable infinite growth and the transition away from it and the potential collapse you mentioned is the core thesis of our old pal, Karl Marx, and he figured that out in the eighteen hundreds. Secondly, I wanna share that the Nebula mesh VPN sick story oh, success story for Nebula Nebula. Cool. But I don't know how to send it in. It's too long for a boost, and I can't reasonably expect you to wade through piles of email.
Oh, was that long? Well, send us a voice mail if that's possible.
[00:38:11] Unknown:
Well, the voice mail cuts off at two minutes. Well?
[00:38:15] Unknown:
50 voice mails. That's the challenge. No. No. The challenge is to do it in two minutes. Okay. Throw it into type it up. Throw it into chat GPT. Tell them to shorten it. Yeah. Bullet. Hey, Chad. Give me a short version of this. By the way, I think we should all just lean into calling it Chad.
[00:38:28] Unknown:
Alright. I like that.
[00:38:30] Unknown:
Yeah. Or we could call live. But I feel like, you know, if you if you send me a voice mail, then I could play it in love. Yeah. Also, I recently switched to Fountain full time since I moved from Apple to Google. It's growing on me. Oh, dude. Fountain over the last year has gotten so great and, very excited about their future. They've now officially launched their Fountain FM for podcasters, which is their hosting service, which we've been using for a little bit for this week in Bitcoin and like it a lot. Mhmm. So they got a lot of things they're doing. And one of the things that I think they're gonna improve on a lot in the near term is the live experience is about to get even better too. So I'm excited about that. Alright. User thank you for the boost. User seventy one three five zero four four comes in. The heck? Somebody needs to go set their username. Yep.
[00:39:16] Unknown:
Yep. Mhmm.
[00:39:18] Unknown:
What the heck? What the what the fuck? What was that? There's a guy's drinking right there. Okay. Yep. Yep.
[00:39:25] Unknown:
That sounds like a bong or their ping. No. He's drinking beer. Okay.
[00:39:29] Unknown:
9,000 sacks. The traders love the vault. Hey, Chris and Anne. Sorry to hear about your sleep issues. I sympathize greatly as I've been experiencing sleep issues for a long time and have not made any progress to the traditional channels. I appreciate the tips from everyone. Maybe you should have Colonel on for a longer segment. I'd love to I'd love a future update on any sites you gain using AI. I will I'll keep you know what I'll do is I'll keep toying with it over time as I feel like I'm slipping or I'm having issues and keep refining it. I do feel like it got me on a good start. For what it's worth, the information from the On Beatrix a Schmidt. Schmidt's channel and her book have been the most helpful to date. Beatrix a Schmidt. Mhmm. Good to know. The Magnolia Mayhem's here with a row of dicks. Can't remember what I was gonna boost, so just put a quip right here.
Insert quip here Nice. In brackets. Appreciate the value, Magnolia. Thank you very much. Bye Benton's here. Hey, there he is. 6,000 sets. This is why I have bedtime wine. Missed you. No. Great discussion. Here's a question. What does what goes in the fruit punch and what doesn't? Oh, your fruits your, I think your fruit salad. Oh. One of the things I think you try to avoid is not getting it too watered down, which could be a challenge. Yeah. So I wash all the fruit. Right? It is strawberries, blueberries,
[00:40:37] Unknown:
grapes, and Cherries? Cherries. And I start with the least juicy ones. But, anyway, I wash them, and then I dry them with a paper towel. And then as I cut them up, I also dry them with a paper towel because, you know, natural juices and such. And then I add Cool Whip and marshmallows, colored marshmallows, if I can find them, but I have not been able to find them since, like, COVID. It's weird. It is weird. And they have a fruity taste. Anyway, so then you mix that up. And then on top of it, mint and oranges and bananas if you like them, but I can't eat bananas, so I've omitted those. The man and oranges on top is a nice touch. Oh oh my gosh. Last year, I found mango in a can. Right? Which I know yeah. That sounds actually really, quite trashy. But, anyway, mango in a can, just a little bit in there makes it taste so good. So Mango in a can makes it. That will be there. That will be in there this year.
[00:41:29] Unknown:
I like that. You know, here's something I didn't know. The Netherlands, surprise, surprise, doesn't, celebrate Thanksgiving. Now I don't know why you don't have your own Thanksgiving. Canada does. Canada does. Right? So everybody can have a Thanksgiving, buddy. It's not just a US thing. By The Netherlands, we do have Sinterklaas. Oh, right. Sinterklaas. Right. Leading up to the, the December 5. Yep. That is great. Also, he boosted our track. Nice. That is coming in clutch again on the live stream, everybody. Really, really impressed. Thank you very much for making it a thing this episode. Another another another great episode for this humble launch. We stacked, 3,385 sats with the sats streamers. Thank you, three of you. Three minutes streaming sats. Appreciate you three. You are my hardcores. And we combine that with our boosters. A lot of those coming in just at the last minute. We stacked a total of three three hundred and sixty seven thousand one hundred and forty seven.
Alright. If you'd like to boost the show, fountain.fm makes it the easiest, and it's gonna get even easier. They host the lighting infrastructure, and they have the connections to the on ramps for the sets. But if you're bold and you wanna try out AlbiHub, go to podcastapps.com, pick out your new podcast app of choice, and then you connect it to your AlbiHub, and you can start boosting once everything's up and going. Lots of options there or become a member or try out one of those web zaps. It is a value for value show. We have no sponsors, just your support, and we really appreciate that.
[00:43:08] Unknown:
Chris found a gem, an easy flip. Let's cash it in. It's barely standing, kinda scary, but potential's extraordinary. Just trust me, it's so winner. Just trust me, it's so winner.
[00:43:32] Unknown:
Alright. So last week, I tried a bank. This week, I'm trying a haunted hotel. Okay. $2,000,000. It's chump change. Well, it's an investment, Ange. It's an investment. Oh, it's so cute. It is cute. Oh my gosh. It's got a great it's got actually a nice big yard. It's very Wow. There's 75 pictures. Midwest classic. It has been used for many things over its life, its long, long life. It has five bedrooms. It's 9,600 square feet. Oh my gosh. Yes. Now, I will say it it you do potentially also have a ghost included in this. It's something to just be aware of. K. It has 11 uniquely themed guest rooms, five bathrooms like I mentioned, and a communal dining room. In 1887, it was it was a hotel. Mhmm.
And, it has also over its life been a good store, a post office, and a brothel.
[00:44:32] Unknown:
So You said five bedrooms, but then there's 11 guest rooms? Yeah. I don't know what that means.
[00:44:36] Unknown:
Well, it was a hotel. So Yeah. Like, oh, I see. Yeah. Yeah. So you could stay there. I mean Maybe there's a house portion of it I think we dedicated. What you have to ask yourself yeah. What you have to ask yourself is what is the hard cash value of having a ghost?
[00:44:53] Unknown:
Well, I don't know. What is the behavior?
[00:44:55] Unknown:
Well, that's a good question. I mean, I think Oh, do you know? I think it's a friendly ghost.
[00:45:00] Unknown:
Mhmm. So
[00:45:01] Unknown:
it's haunted, but in, like, the light sense they say. Okay. Because It's closing. Nobody's ever been hurt by it. Nobody's ever been hurt by it. It does also have RV hookups. Oh. It's got a patio. It's got a stream that runs through it. I think a friendly ghost adds a few $100,000 to the property value. Don't you? A good friendly ghost story for a haunted inn. I mean, think about it. No ghost story? Not worth it. Right? When I take the ghost story This is so logical. I love it. Built in 1887. Yeah. Crazy. And what is a a packet carry? What is apothecary? What's apothecary? Apothecary. Yeah. What's apothecary? It's a older medicine, like Oh, so it used to be apothecary truck. Whatever.
[00:45:46] Unknown:
Oh, wow. Like a pharmacy.
[00:45:48] Unknown:
And you could take it right now and just immediately turn around and turn it into a hotel. It's got a stage area for performances, so we could do podcast there. So we could probably call it a business expense. It's got a classic cash register that's probably worth a couple $100. And it's got one of those autoplay pianos. It comes with one of those cool old old school again, very ghost vibe. Mhmm.
[00:46:13] Unknown:
I think this is a good It's really cool. It is.
[00:46:16] Unknown:
You could you could live in it. You could make it you could make it a studio. There's a store there's a stage Yep. For live music. Do or the podcast. Yep. You do the podcast. And then people come, they stay. They stay in the Jupiter Hotel. It's got a ghost. Oh. It's got live shows. Oh. This is a business situation. You're right. I see. Yeah. Don't you think. Right? I mean, it's just a quick 2 mil. How hard could that be? But then we have a Jupiter Hotel, which exists in Portland, but we'd have our own. This one's in Arizona, I believe. Right. No. No. It is not in Arizona. My car payment is gonna end soon. So Here we go. We got it. Yeah. I feel like this is just a no brainer. It's just a no brainer. Alright. Well, that's just about it for this week.

Okay.
